Located by the sea, the CCIB is an architectonical icon of Barcelona and an integral part of the new technology and business district locally known as 22@. This space of 100,000 m2, with ceilings up to 12m height and capable of hosting 15.000 delegates, was conceived to give more prominence to light. The CCIB consists of two buildings, the Convention Centre, that includes 45 rooms of different sizes and was designed by the architect Josep Luís Mateo, and the Forum Auditorium, by Herzog & DeMeuron that counts 3.140 seats. Both are linked by an underground walkway.
Opened in 2004, the Centre is a modern, versatile, functional and column-free building, easily accessible from the outside, equipped with the latest technology, that offers a large range of top-quality services that can be adapted to contribute to the success of all kind of events.
Since 2011, the CCIB has implemented a series of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives making its commitment to social development and the improvement of the environment its business objective (waste segregation, energy optimization, reduction of water consumption, calculation and compensation the carbon footprint).
From the city center: Avenida Diagonal until the sea.

From the airport or from out of town: Ronda Litoral, Exit 24.

The bus service between the airport and the center of Barcelona (Plaça Catalunya) runs daily from 5:00 till 1:05h every 5-10 minutes roughly.

The taxi ride takes about 20 minutes. The rates change depending on the schedule.
URBAN PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Options that lead to the CCIB: bus (lines 7, H16, H14, 36), underground (L4 – yellow line, El Maresme Fórum station) and tram (T4 to Fórum station).
