The Canary Island Trade Fair Complex (INFECAR) opened this modern conference centre in 1994, thus adding conferences to the trade fair services offered by Las Palmas and INFECAR.
The Gran Canaria Exhibition and Conference Centre has a capacity of over 2,000 people. All the rooms are equipped with the very latest technology to satisfy the most demanding needs and include the Tamadaba Room, the Timanfaya Room, the Boardroom, the Videoconferencing Room and the VIP Lounge. The complex’s pavilions and open-plan areas, which cover over 16,000m², provide conferences with the perfect space for complementary commercial exhibitions, while the spacious landscaped gardens allow visitors to relax between conferences and presentations.
The Gran Canaria Conference Centre also organises concerts in one of the complex’s car parks. The most famous Spanish and international groups who have visited the Canary Islands have performed here and in fact the INFECAR car park is at present the only venue in the city which is properly equipped to stage concerts.
The INFECAR Conference Centre was given a major boost when the Gran Canaria Convention Bureau was set up in 1999. This organisation, which was established with the support of the Trade Fair Complex, aims to organise and promote event tourism in the city.
